Answers to the most important questions about Joblist X — from setup to integration.
Joblist X is a B2B SaaS platform for manufacturing companies that digitally maps the entire production progress — from order intake to shipping. The software is suitable for print shops, packaging manufacturers, metal workers, and all production facilities that work with defined process steps.
Each job goes through process steps you define (e.g. Printing → Laminating → Cutting → Welding → Packaging → Shipping). At each station, your workers scan the job barcode to document the start and end of each work step. The dashboard shows in real time where each job is.
Setup typically takes less than an hour. You create your process steps and locations, set up user accounts for your employees, and can immediately create the first job and print barcodes. No complex IT integration is needed to get started.
No. You can use commercially available Bluetooth barcode scanners paired with a PC or tablet at each station. Alternatively, scanning works via smartphone camera through our PWA — you only need a phone with a camera and internet access.
Open the Joblist X web app on your smartphone and select the scan function. The camera activates and automatically recognizes the barcode. The scan is processed in real time — just like with a physical Bluetooth scanner. The PWA can be installed on the home screen and works like a native app.
Joblist X validates each scan against the defined process sequence. If a step is skipped, a red error message immediately appears on all connected screens. An already completed step is highlighted yellow when scanned again. This makes production errors immediately visible.
Jobs are created via the dashboard: enter customer name, order number, product, quantity, delivery date, and the associated process steps. Then print the barcode labels directly from the system. Jobs can be edited, archived, and filtered by location at any time.
Yes. With AI-powered job creation, you can upload email texts, photos of order slips, or Excel files. The AI automatically extracts customer name, product, quantity, and order number and pre-fills the job form. You briefly review the data and confirm.
Yes. Joblist X offers a public tracking portal where your end customers can view the production progress of their order live. Access is via a tracking link or order number — no login required. This significantly reduces status inquiries.
Joblist X offers three tiers: The free FREE plan to get started, the PRO plan from $49 per month per location for growing businesses, and the ENTERPRISE plan for self-hosted installations from $2,000 annual license. All variants use the same codebase.
Yes, the FREE plan is unlimited in time and ideal for trying out. It is limited in job count, locations, and users. You can try the full PRO feature set free for 14 days — no credit card needed.
Yes. We support migrating your data between Cloud and Self-Hosted in both directions. Contact us at hallo@joblistx.com for a smooth transition.
All data is transmitted encrypted (TLS) and stored in isolated tenant areas — no other customer can access your data. Passwords are stored hashed, authentication uses JWT tokens. For companies with special requirements, we offer the self-hosted option.
Yes. Joblist X is hosted in Europe and processes personal data exclusively within the framework of GDPR. All user actions are logged in the audit log. With the self-hosted option, you have full control over storage location and data processing.
Yes. Joblist X offers a REST API with Bearer token authentication through which you can programmatically create jobs and retrieve status data. This allows Joblist X to be integrated into existing ERP, WMS, or shop systems. Shopify and Magento integrations via webhook are included in the PRO plan.
For the cloud version, you only need a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari) and an internet connection. For smartphone scanning, a device with a camera. The self-hosted variant is delivered as a Docker Compose stack and requires a Linux server with Docker.
Yes. You can create any number of production locations and assign and filter jobs by location. Each location has its own dashboard, and employees only see jobs for their location. The number of locations depends on your chosen plan.
Joblist X is a cloud-based real-time application — an active internet connection is required for scanning. We recommend a stable network connection at all scan stations. With the self-hosted variant, the system runs in your local network and is independent of external internet availability.
The user interface is fully available in German and English. The language can be switched per user. Additional languages can be added on request.
Cloud customers receive basic email support included. For the self-hosted variant, we offer optional support contracts with guaranteed response times. Enterprise customers receive prioritized support with a dedicated contact person. Reach us at hallo@joblistx.com.
